Does anyone play Dissidia?

also, if we have all these rules to ensure each character is more or less equal, then why aren't we just using Arcade mode for the character set ups? I assume those are already balanced (more or less, of course).

Arcade has different accessory and equipment sets for each character. or at least some characters have different accessories. Also some weapons are better than others so the only way to have everyone equal is to have everyone equip the Impartisan set, since it's the only set every character can use.

I don't think I need to explain how broken the accessories are.

Yeah... I've been distracted from Dissida a lot this week. ...I'm not sure I can get all the imp equipment before Saturday, especially since I'll be busy for these next few days...
Should I grab a save file with the tournament rule stuff in it, or just go with my lack or preparedness?

Just bring what you have. If you don't have the whole imp set, we'll just play Naked (no equipment) and as for the accessories, anything you don't have, I'll just take off.

Go through the Invincible Course to get the Imp set, it'll show up sooner or latter.

Close to you = Gravitorb, Dragonfly Orb, and Tome of the Masters. Gravitorb and Dragonfly Orb are easy to get, just play Stiltzkin: 4 or 5's Ghost, and you'll get them after fighting one of them a few times. If for some reason you can't get one or both of them, here's how you can get them the hard way. For the Gravitorb, you'll have to beat Fririon for the 3 Magnet Shards and the 2 Magnet Crystals. After that, you'll have to go through the Falcon Course and collect at least 6 Elixirs for the Tome of Souls. For the Dragonfly Orb, you'll have to beat Terra a few times for the 3 Amplification Shards and the 2 Amplification Crystals. The Tome of Silences are obtainable by collecting at least 15 Mega Elixirs from the Lunar Whale Course. To get the Tome of the Masters, you'll have to go through the Lunar Whale Course, and collect at least 15 Mega Elixirs.

Hero's Seal = Valor Incense, Valor Resin, and Tome of Love. Both the Valor accessories are fairly easy to get, since all you have to do is buy them. But Tome of Love requires you to go through the Falcon Course, and collect at least get 9 Elixirs.

Hero's Spirit x 2 = Lucky Charm x 2, and Guard Ring x 2. To make the Lucky Charms you'll need a Leprechaun 2 Yellow Drops, that you can get from Stiltzkin: 6, and the 4 Luck Powders from fighting against Bartz. To make the 2 Gaurd Rings, you'll need to fight Stiltzkin: 7 for the 2 Orange Drops, and Warrior of Light for the 4 Protect Powders.

Hero's Essence = Rabbit's Foot, and Block Ring. Rabbit's Foot just takes a few battles from Stiltzkin: 6 for the 2 Yellow Gems, and then a few more battles from Bartz for the 2 Luck Shards, and the Luck Crystal. Block Ring requires less effort, all you need is to battle Warrior of Light for the 3 Protect Powders and 2 Protect Shards.

2 Orange Drops and the Orange Gem can be found by Fighting Stiltzkin: 7. If you don't have enough to make +4 Defense, you can either buy a Patience Incense, or put on any 4 of the Protect trade accessories that the Warrior of Light gives out as a drop item.

Hooray for info! ...but I'm at a family Christmas party right before Z'z's party... so I really don't have time to gather any of these items. Yay for naked fights?

Wee, after Z'z's birthday tourney, I've been working on Dissidia quite a bit. I levelled up Golbez from about 1 to 75 yesterday, legitimately. So... PROGRESS QUEST, SHYEAH!

Sweet! Make sure you level up your abilities later. I suggest putting on the Diamond equipment set and the Beckoning Cat accessory and just going through one of the courses trying to get the AP bonus as much as possible.

Yeah, AP's the most valuable thing to get for sure. Golbez was kind of nice at first, when you had enough CP to equip all abilities at once, but then they start learning those extra abilities like Cat Nip and Back to the Wall and it all goes haywire.

Yeah, you should prioritize abilities this way. 1st 5 of the action abilities, EX Core Lock On, Omni Air Dash, Brave and HP attacks, Jump Boost Speed Boost and Jump Times Boost (Jump Times Boost should always be maxed out the other two can be optional depending on which char you use), Counterattack or Sneak Attack, then any Critical boosting abilities you want.

After watching the replays, I see the things I'm doing wrong, good learning experience.
